Cancer evidence-based medicine for traditional Chinese medicine - a leading role of Guang’anmen Hospital
In order to further implement the task of evidence-based construction of cancer diseases and establish a long-term working mechanism, on Aug. 29th, 2020, supported by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS), hosted by China Center for Evidence Based Traditional Chinese Medicine (CCEBTCM) and Guang’anmen Hospital of CACMS, Cancer Project Group Working Conference of CCEBTCM was organized in Guangzhou City by the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. The conference was presided by Dr. Hou Wei, Director of oncology department of Guang'anmen Hospital and head of oncology technology, and Ms. Lin Lizhu, Vice president of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine.
The conference was attended by 7 evidence-based capacity-building units, including Yueyang Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated Hospital, Hubei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Jiangsu Province Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Affiliated to Southwest Medical University, and the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, and 2 basic evidence-based capacity-building units, including Beijing Shijitan Hospital of Capital Medical University and Jilin Cancer Hospital.
On Aug. 29th, after the Cancer Project Group Working Conference, an advanced training course on improving clinical evidence-based capacity on oncological diseases was held for 4,000 participants online and offline. Focusing on real-world research, lectures were given by evidence-based medicine experts from Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, U.S. MD. Anderson Cancer Center, etc.
On Oct. 17th, 2020, following the requirements of “Cancer evidence-based capacity-building project of TCM”, Guang’anmen Hospital successfully held “2020 Advanced Training Course on Clinical Evidence-based Capacity -- Cancer Project Group of CCEBTCM” in Hefei city, Anhui Province. About 100 principal investigators and key research staffs attended the training course from 7 evidence-based capacity-building units, 2 basic evidence-based capacity-building units and 5 other research units.
Evidence-based medicine for TCM in recent year develops very fast in China. Cancer Project Group of CCEBTCM will follow the requirements of “Cancer evidence-based capacity-building project of TCM”, improve the clinical research ability of TCM evidence-based prevention and treatment on cancer diseases, accelerate the training of evidence-based talents in various units, use centralized learning to promote the progress of the industry, and submit a satisfactory answer for the evidence-based oncology in TCM cause.
