The awarding ceremony for the joint establishment of "Capital Institute of Rheumatology and Immunology of Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine" by Guang'anmen Hospital and Peking Union Medical College Hospital was successfully held

On June 6, with the approval of the Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine（TCM）, the Department of Rheumatology, Guang'anmen Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, Peking Union Medical College Hospital jointly established the "Capital Institute of Rheumatology and Immunology of Integrated TCM and Western Medicine".
Guang’anmen Hospital and Peking Union Medical College Hospital are the pioneers in the clinical and basic research of Rheumatism in TCM and Rheumatism and Immunology in Western Medicine respectively. They are the chairman units of the Rheumatology Branch of the China Association of Chinese Medicine and the Rheumatology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. They play a pivotal role in the disciplinary development of rheumatism in China. The Institute will integrate superior resources to build a domestic and international advanced research base for rheumatism and immunology with the characteristics of integrated TCM and Western medicine, and lead the research work nationwide.
The Department of Rheumatology of Guang’anmen Hospital ranked # 1 in rheumatology on the recent China's best TCM Hospitals. In recent years, the department has published many SCI articles, such as Demographic Characteristics and Clinical Features of Fibromyalgia in China: A Cross-Sectional Study （https://doi.org/10.1007/s40744-021-00303-1）and Traditional Chinese Medicine Qingre Huoxue Treatment vs. the Combination of Methotrexate and Hydroxychloroquine for Active Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Multicenter, Double-Blind, Randomized Controlled Trial（https://doi.org/10.3389/fphar.2021.679588), etc.
