On March 29, Academician Tong Xiaolin was invited to Hong Kong as the leader of the national anti-epidemic traditional Chinese medicine（TCM）expert group to provide guidance and advice on the application of TCM in the treatment of patients with COVID-19 and the prevention of patients from developing into severe diseases. Li Xiuyang, the attending physician of Guang 'anmen Hospital, accompanied him as a team member.

The application of TCM has played a very important role in the fight against COVID-19 in the mainland. Together with western medicine, a diagnosis and treatment plan with Chinese characteristics has been formed, and its efficacy has been tested in practice.
The experts will learn from the experience of fighting against COVID-19 in the mainland and combine the actual situation in Hong Kong to promote TCM to play a greater role in the COVID-19 prevention and treatment.
