Guang'anmen Hospital Hosted the LANCANG-MEKONG WEEK FORUM WEBINAR

On the occasion of the 8th anniversary of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Mechanism and the 7th Lancang-Mekong Week, on March 28th, the forum webinar on "Mutual Learning in Lancang- Mekong Region, Moving with One Heart for People’s Health" was jointly organized by the China- Cambodia Traditional Chinese Medicine Center and Guang'anmen hospital.

Leaders and experts from Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital, Cambodia National Traditional Medicine Center, Laos Ministry of Health Traditional Medicine Research Institute, and Guang'anmen Hospital attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Lyu Wenliang, Vice President of Guang'anmen Hospital.

Liu Zhen, President of Guang'anmen Hospital, in his speech, reviewed the construction of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinic of Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital. From the preparation in January 2021, to the establishment of the TCM clinic in March 2022, and to the establishment of the China-Cambodia TCM Center in October 2023, the construction of the TCM clinic has entered a new chapter.



Tan Sokun, director of the Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital, pointed out in his speech that the friendship between China and Cambodia has a long history, and the TCM Clinic was established under the promotion and witness of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen. The two medical aid teams for Cambodian have made outstanding contributions to the construction of the TCM Clinic.


Yuan Geng, leader of the TCM Medical Aid Team for Cambodia, reported the situation of TCM research in Cambodia in his speech and proposed to strengthen assistance and cooperation in clinical treatment, personnel training and scientific research.

Thongsavanh Sengkongdala, Vice President of the Traditional Medicine Research Institute of the Ministry of Health of Laos, introduced the current development status of traditional medicine and TCM in Laos, hoping to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation in policies and regulations, talent cultivation, scientific research, cultural promotion, and standard system construction of traditional medicine.


Under the guidance of carrying forward Lancang-Mekong friendship, deepening Lancang-Mekong cooperation, and building a China-Cambodia community of shared future in the new era, the participating leaders and experts discussed the development of traditional medicine, cross-cultural medical cooperation, and expanding the influence and radiation of TCM, opening a new chapter for deepening and enriching the connotation of China-Cambodia TCM cooperation and improving the health and well-being of the Lancang-Mekong people.
