These numbers tell you what make Guang'anmen Hospital special in terms of international exchanges.
Founded in 1955, Guang'anmen Hospital, since 1956, has carried out international exchanges. In the past 65 years, a total of 162 foreign dignitaries and VIPs above the vice-ministerial level have visited the hospital, including 141 Ministers of Health (including ministers from the same countries).
They came from 78 countries, including 22 countries in Asia, 23 countries in Africa, 23 countries in Europe, 5 countries in the Americas, and 5 countries in Oceania. (according to the data provided by the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, as of September 2019, 180 countries have established diplomatic relations with China.)
At the same time, starting in 1978 spanning 57 years, Guang'anmen Hospital has also carried out international exchange activities with 17 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)member states, observer states and dialogue partners. The SCO has 8 member states (China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, Pakistan), 4 observer states (Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran, Mongolia) and 6 dialogue partners (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cambodia, Nepal, Turkey, Sri Lanka).
As many as 56 countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" have conducted international exchanges and cooperation with Guang'anmen Hospital.
During the 11 years from 2006 to 2016, Guang'anmen Hospital successively organized international conferences on traditional medicine under cooperation framework of China-ASEAN, China-Asia and China-Arab League, strengthened the close ties with the countries along the "Belt and Road", and shared China's successful experience in " integrating traditional medicine into national health system".
